Just call us Mommy & Daddy

Yup, I'm pregnant! We found out at the very end of July. My blood test levels were so high (anything over a 4 is considered positive and mine came back at 6,400!) so they thought I might be further along than I was thinking so I went in for an ultrasound. They decided I was 4 weeks and 3 days along when they did this on July 29th.

We were so excited with the news!
On Wednesday, August 19th I had another ultrasound to see if there were two in there (because of my high numbers). There's only one and the doctor measured me to be a week farther along than my original appointment. My due date was April 4th but now it's March 30th.

I got two pics from that appointment....

This one is the regular ultrasound pic. The head is on the left.

This picture is way cooler. It's a 3D shot. I was so excited when the technician flipped the switch to the 3D. It was so much easier to tell what I was looking at and actually see everything.

I told Shaun that it kinda looks more like a manatee than a baby at this point. LOL! Can you see the resemblance?

My event went well

So my bike event was last weekend (August 8th & 9th). It went REALLY well. I was so excited see all the hard work that we crunched into about 3 weeks come to life. The cyclists who participated were amazing and so friendly. I don't think I've ever had so many people come up and tell me they were so glad to meet me and what a great job I did. While I was already proud of myself, it was nice to have people be so supportive. The weekend was definitely a success and I look forward to next year when I have even more ownership of the event and have more time to work with the details! :)

Then on Wednesday & Thursday my co-workers and I headed to Waltham, MA. Vermont is merging with the Central New England Chapter of the MS Society as of October 1st so we're all getting new bosses. While one of the managers I'll work with was at my bike event, my direct manager, Todd, was not. It was so nice to meet him and the rest of the team at the CNE offices. I'm looking forward to that change too.

Shaun's story is the same as always. Work. Although he did play doubles with a friend in tournament this weekend. Unfortunately they lost in the first round. Oh well, he still has today (Saturday) off from work so that's great for him. Too bad I'm working in Lake Placid and can't hang-out with him. Oh well, we'll have most of the day tomorrow.

So, since we're so boring, I'm signing off. We hope everyone is well. Love and hugs to everyone!

Update on the Zemaneks

WORK
SLY: I started my job on July 7th and I went back on the 8th. :) So far I'm loving it. My co-workers are AWESOME and I love the commute (less than 8 miles so about 10 minutes!).

My first event is coming up on August 8th & 9th. It's a big cycling event down in Castleton, VT. Cyclists get to choose whether they ride 20, 40, 75 or 100 miles each day. Luckily, I'm not riding a bike!!! :)

SHAUN: Shaun is still as busy as ever. He works so hard and only has a 1.5 days off each week. We're lucky that so many locals love him so much and play with him as often as they do.

LIFE
- Unfortunately I will not make it to Michigan next month. I could not find a reasonably priced flight and thought I had more miles than I really do. I'm bummed but hopefully we can work something out so both of us can go out together at some point.

- We still haven't managed to get any paint on the walls but we did pick a shade of green. :) That is progress. Now I just have to get the paint and get it on the walls.

- Shaun took today off and we got out of town for a bit. We went to the outlets in North Conway, NH. It was a great day together and we found some fabulous deals. :)

That's all for now. Life is kinda boring so I don't really have much to share but I felt bad that I hadn't posted anything recently.

So Grown Up

Happy 7th Birthday, Georgia!
We love you SO much and can't believe what a beautiful young woman you're already becoming.

Update - Job and Life

ON THE JOB FRONT
So I actually didn't start my job until last Tuesday (July 7th). So far it's going really well. I really like the other women in the office. It's a bit overwhelming because I'm used to being the person that knows everything so not knowing anything is a little hard. But hey, I can't always know everything and I'm learning. :)

I'm super busy and have been thrown right into everything because my first event is in 3 weeks! One of the fundraisers I coordinate is a bike ride. It's a 2-day event that people ride either 20, 45, 75 or 100 miles each day. There is a good amount of stuff setup but there is still A LOT that needs to be organized and I have to learn a whole bunch of different things. Don't get me wrong - I'd rather be busy and learn by rapid fire than taking it slow. Then it just takes too long to learn everything.

ON LIFE
Shaun has been super busy at work. He's always so popular with the guests that he's always in demand. He complains about the hours but loves being so popular. :)

I am hoping to make it to Michigan next month but I'm having the hardest time finding a flight I can afford. I'm so bummed. I thought I had more airline miles than I do so that was a sad realization. I thought about driving but it's about 15 hours each way so I'd be driving for two days to only be there for 2 days. Oh well. I'm just hoping something works out.

Other than work, we haven't done much. We think we may have finally found a shade of green we like to paint the kitchen/living room area. Now we just need to get it painted. Don't be surprised if a year from now our walls still white. Hahahaha.

I got a job!

So, I got a job. I am going to be the Development - Special Events Coordinator for the Vermont Office of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. I start on Monday (6/29) and am very excited.

The office is less than 8 miles from the house so my commute will be nice and easy. :) The office also closes at Noon on Fridays during the summer so that's cool too! :) I'll miss hanging out with Shaun on Thursdays (his day off) and the ability to do whatever whenever I've wanted during the last few weeks. However, it will be nice to be part of an office again and

Week Three

I can't believe how quickly the last three weeks have gone by! It's already the end of Week 3. It seems like just the other day I got the news I needed to pack-up my office.

One of the nicest things about being home is being able to spend Thursdays with Shaun, who has Thursdays off. Last week the weather was BEAUTIFUL and we went for a picnic and bike ride. Our bike ride ended up being way longer than we intended. What was supposed to maybe be a few miles turned into FIFTEEN (yes, 15!) miles. We were WIPED OUT after that. And, my butt hurt for a few days. :)

This week the weather was not nearly as fabulous. Pretty crappy actually - cold and raining. So, we slept in - or tried to and had a slow morning before I had a phone interview (yea!!!). Then it was off to lunch, go see NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE OF THE SMITHSONIAN and take care of some other errands.

So back to the phone interview. It's for a position with the Vermont Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society doing event planning for their fundraising events. The job sounds fabulous and I'm hoping I get a call for second round of interviews, which will be in-person during the second week of June. Keep your fingers crossed!

Okay, I think that's it for now. Next week I'm headed over to The White Face Lodge in Lake Placid, NY for a few days. I'm very excited to see my old boss/friend Melissa who is the Director of Sales & Marketing at the resort. Unfortunately Shaun is stuck here but he's a good sport about it. :)

p.s. I saw this image the other day and liked it so saved it for one of my posts. I think it's kinda funny and definitely something to keep in mind as I'm looking for my next adventure in the world of careers. :)
