We're registering at Target and Babies-R-Us. Between trying to make sure I register for something at the store that has the best price and making sure I'm finding stuff that isn't the most expensive but well-rated to checking with friends about what they recommend for brands and what we need or don't need, I'm giving myself a headache!! I have a hard time coming up with stuff I want for Christmas or my birthday and now I'm having to come up with a list of stuff (expensive to boot!) we need for Miss Amelia. It's stressful but I'm working on it. And, hating it. :)

There is a great website for diapers. (you have to buy big cases, but it's worth it since they do free shipping on orders of 49 or more). www.diapers.com
oh! And I would totally recommend overnight diapers, they are worth it.
Get recommendations from friends as to what they actually used the most from the items they registered for. We registered for sooo much stuff we NEVER used. Obviously, you can never have enough onesies, diapers and wipes, but we never used those stiff receiving blankets (and we got a bunch of them) or the wipe warmer. We also registered for a bunch of different types of bottles, but just found 1 brand we liked and took the rest back. Same thing with pacifiers. If your baby is a pacifier baby, chances are she will be specific to one type. So by a TON of that type and not any other kind. Oh and I had friends that swore by Huggies and Pampers, and when both girls were newborns, we used Pampers Swaddlers, but as they grew they leaked through EVERY brand of diapers except Luvs. Not the most expensive brand, so it surprised me. A friend of mine's daughter leaked through every brand except the Target store brand. Diapers are something you will have to wait and see on. It depends on your daughter's shape. sounds odd I know, but it is true.
But good luck with your search. Preparing for my first was a blast!
Wait...you are shopping with OTHER people's money...that is supposed to be FUN!
