We're Moving!

Well, as I quickly mentioned in another post - Shaun and I were looking at houses. We weren't planning on moving but wanted to see what was out there. Just see what we could look foward to in the future. Big mistake. We found a place we LOVED and had everything on our wish list (kid-friendly neighborhood, good school district, minimum of 3 bedrooms, 2-car garage and fireplace) so of course, we couldn't pass it up so we put in an offer. It was accepted but then of course we had to sell our condo.

Selling was NOT as easy as we thought it would be - we live in a beautiful condo in a really great location (it's the one pictured here). It was a pain to be honest. And STRESSFUL. It took awhile but we finally reached an agreement with a buyer and it's official, we're selling and MOVING.

We close (and move) on April 30th. It will be really interesting to see how we pull it off since I'm not home much in the month of April.

Well, I don't have a picture of the house we're buying but I do have a link to a virtual tour of a very similar one that we can share because yes, it is in a development. But, we don't care - it's less work we have to do and it offers a pool and tennis courts. :) The link is http://hometour360network.com/provider/vtv/0243/Tourviewer_VirtualTour243.html

Alright, I have to go. The days here in Miami have been L-O-N-G and the heat seems to make them even longer. The bed is calling my name so for now, goodnight.
P.S. James plays tomorrow morning - keep your fingers crossed. It could be a tough match and I would LOVE to see him win it. He seemed out of sorts during his last match - wasn't sure if it was the heat or not feeling well so in case he's ill, he needs all the positive thoughts he can get. GO BLAKE!!!!

Miami Heat

Well, I'm here in Miami. I've been here since Monday but have been too crazy busy to write. the heat is ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I'm super psyched not to be in the snow and 30-degree weather of Vermont but the humidity and power of the sun are a little overwhelming.

The tennis has been good so far. Haven't seen much of it but the guys I like are winning. :) That's all that matters, right? GO JAMES!!!!

I actually saw James practicing right after Tommy Haas (who ended up pulling out). It was nice because I got to see his coach, Brian too. And I watched Mary-Jo Fernandez playing with some kids on a court across from our booth.

On the second night I got here I met up with one of my cousins - David. We went to this great seafood restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale. I had the nicest time with him and dinner was yummy. He has a boat up in Boca Raton. I am hoping to steal away at some point and be able to go out on it with him - now that would be awesome. :)

Well, I'll try to be better about posting but it was a bit of a rocky start work-wise and I've just been so tired - it can only get better from here....I hope!

Dinner with Friends

We had dinner with Steph, Jay, Kaelani, Abby, Dave and Anna this week - it was such a GREAT time. We hadn't all had dinner together since December...or maybe November...either way, it had been too long!
Shaun hadn't met Kaelani yet so it was extra special to meet her. :) Both girls were so well behaved. Anna had a great time helping me open my birthday presents and inspecting the different sauces. Kaelani even gave a few big smiles during the evening.
At the end of dinner all of us girls took a picture with the first boy of the group (in Abby's belly - due in July!). All of us are so excited to have another addition at the dinner table. :)
Tonight was also exciting because we shared our news that we've put an offer in on a house in the same development as Abby and Dave. And Steph and Jay announced that they have started looking at houses in the same area! It's SOOOO exciting to think of the three of us living that close together.

Renee's Visit

Our niece Renee came to visit last weekend. We had a great time. The weekend started out with a trip to the grocery store, which was celebrating it's 2nd birthday. Renee got her face painted, a hot dog and popcorn, and a balloon. It was a great time.
That night Uncle Shaun joined us for dinner at Friendly's and then we went to see HORTON HEARS A WHO. It was very funny and Renee loved it.
The next day Renee and Aunt Shawnna made sugar cookies - pink, green, orange and brown ones! That afternoon Uncle Shaun gave Renee a tennis lesson - she did great and proclaimed it was her favorite part of the weekend. After the tennis lesson we went snowshoeing. Renee did such a great job - when even raced and she was awesome on them!
The next morning was St. Patrick's day so we made green packcakes - with chocolate chips!
All in all, it was a great weekend and we had a great time. :)

San Diego Sunset

I realized I never posted the picture I took of the sunset in San Diego so here it is. Pretty, huh?

It's Been Awhile...

Well, I've been home since San Diego so really haven't had much to talk about. We've been working and working and oh yeah, working. Between work (Shaun has been working like a dog and for LONG hours), being sick (almost 2 weeks!) and the weather (snow! snow! snow!) we haven't done much for the last month. It's been quiet and unexciting.

We do have something to look forward to - our niece, Renee, is coming to visit in 2 weeks. We're hoping to take her sledding and to tour Ben & Jerry's. Maybe we'll even take her to the new Dr. Seuss movie, Horton Hears a Who, which comes out that weekend.

So, I thought I'd update everyone about my upcoming travel schedule so that we all have something to look forward to! :)

On March 24th I'm headed to Miami, FL for the Sony Ericsson Open. Hello, Sunshine! I am hoping that my favorite player, James Blake, is fully recovered and able to play. I will be there until April 7th.

On April 7th I'm going to New Bern, NC to see my best friend from high school, Jen. I'm FINALLY going to meet her daughters KayLee and NataLee (who is actually my Goddaughter). I am soooo excited. I will also get to see my mom and dad in Chapel Hill before I go to Winston-Salem for the Davis Cup tournament against France that weekend. It will be a great tournament if Jo Wilfried Tsonga (Australia Open finalist) and Richard Gasquet are both there. Of course, I hope that my boys (Andy, James, Mike & Bob) can kick their butts. :) Oh and Shaun is going to meet me in Winston-Salem. :) It will be good to see him after being gone in FL for 2 weeks.

After Davis Cup I come home from April 14th - 19th before I head to Monacco for the Monte-Carlo Open. I am really looking forward to going there - I've heard it's absolutely beautiful...and EXPENSIVE.

So, keep a look out for pictures and updates.
P.S. The pics in the post are random but I kinda liked them. They are of...
1) a picture of the little girl I babysit when we played dress-up one day. Isn't she cute?
2) the bushes (or whatever they are) outside our front door yesterday
3) a close-up of one of the roses Shaun gave me on Valentine's Day
