New posts!

New posts are up but in no particular order. I just wanted to get some pictures up for everyone to see. So, here you go... ENJOY!

Accidents Happen

Today was awful. It started out great though. Amelia slept for 8.5 hours and we had great snuggles. This afternoon we had to go to my friend Erin's baby shower. I had offered to pick-up a cake from Costco. We needed diapers so it was perfect.

Amelia and I got everything we needed and made it through the line pretty quickly. She flirted with the cashier and cooed at everyone who adored her. It was cute. Then we headed outside.

I put the diapers in the trunk and then went to put AJ in the back seat. I had my wallet and cell phone in her carseat with her so I tossed them up front. My keys must've been in that pile and I didn't know it. I closed the door and went to put the cake in the front passenger seat. The door was locked. I went to get the key and saw it sitting on the seat. I frantically tried the other three doors. ALL LOCKED. I freaked. I ran over to a couple and begged to use their cell phone. Not thinking, I called Abby. I knew she had a spare key to my house and could bring me the spare key to the car.

Then I realized it was 88* outside and I couldn't wait 15 minutes for the key. We called 911. A police officer was a block away so got there in less than a minute. They don't carry slim jims or whatever you call them anymore so he was trying to find a way into the car. I just stood there crying while Amelia sat in the car as happy as a clam, none the wiser. (thank God! I can only imagine how much worse it would have been to have her crying too!)

Finally it was decided the only thing to do was break the window. In order to minimize any glass hitting Amelia they broke the driver's window. It went EVERYWHERE. Except near the baby. Thankfully. I happened to have a blanket in the trunk so the officer cleared out most of the glass and then wrapped my seat so I could sit without getting cut. I just clung to Amelia and told myself accidents happen and I'll never do anything like that again.

It was awful and I'm SO glad she's okay. I feel like a fool but I'm glad that an officer was close by and I didn't have to resort to finding a hammer or some other tool out of someone's car to break the window myself. While the whole thing felt like forever, I think from start to finish it was about 7 minutes but they were the longest 7 minutes. Ugh, I hope we never experience anything like that again!!

Outfit by Grandma

My mom made the dress and hat for Amelia. It was a perfect dress for a birthday party to celebrate Oliver turning 2! AJ looked so cute in it. Thanks, Grandma!

With Rachel

Amelia might not like to smile for the camera but I know she's crazy about Rachel. It's too bad she's such a stinker when the camera comes out!

The faces of Amelia

4th of July

Amelia was one stylish little lady in her red, white and blue for the 4th of July. Right down to her bathing suit! :)

Me and My Girl

Love that naked baby!

Amelia got a bath tonight and afterward I thought I'd let her hang-out commando and enjoy the fresh air. I couldn't get over how cute her little bum was and then when she crossed her ankles, I HAD to get a picture. The bottom picture was one Shaun took while I was massaging AJ with lotion. Lucky girl gets a mini massage after every bath! Little diva princess!

We love Rachel!

We had a wonderful two weeks with my cousin Rachel. All of us were so sad when she left. This picture was taken minutes before we dropped her at the airport for her flight home. When we pulled up the airport, Amelia started crying.

Rachel - You are an amazing woman and I love you bunches! Thanks for loving my daughter as much as you do. You're going to be a fabulous mommy one day.

Chatty Cathy

Amelia has become very chatty lately. Here are two videos of her expressing herself and exercising those vocal cords.

Look at me!

Look at what our big girl can do! She is trying SO hard to roll on her own but once we help her get on her belly, she holds her head up SO high!

The little drama queen used to start crying after about 30 seconds of being put on her tummy. Now she is hanging out and working those ab and neck muscles for about 5 minutes at a time.

Future SMC Grad?

A local charity is having an auction later this summer for a whole bunch of cows that have been decorated and placed out on Church Street (a pedestrian shopping street in downtown Burlington). My alma mater, St. Michael's College, sponsored one of the cows. I had Shaun take a picture of Amelia and I. I might just use this pic to send to the alumni magazine announcing her arrival. :)

Clover Nose

This picture is over a month old but I had forgotten about it. We took Amelia for a walk down by the waterfront one afternoon. We laid her down and ticked her with grass and then I put this clover on her nose. I thought she looked so stinking cute that I snapped a pic.

Will Skype for Love!

Amelia has become quite the pro when it comes to Skype. Once a week she talks to her Nanny and Poppy in Australia. She always seems glued to the screen and we love that Shaun's family gets to see AJ as she is growing up.

Shaun & Amelia talking to Nanny.

She loves talking to her Nanny & Poppy!

Nanny kept closing her eyes so this is the best shot I got of what Amelia sees on the screen.

Amelia is enjoying Poppy's impersonation of Donald Duck.

If you have Skype, we would LOVE to chat with you too! Just let us know and we'll setup a virtual date. Our little chatterbox will talk your ear off and stare at you too! :)

3 Months Old!

I can't believe Amelia is already 3 months old! She's getting so big and with each day we love her more and more.

Amelia is becoming more interactive too, which is so much fun! I need to download some more videos so you can see and hear her in action.

We love you, Baby Girl!

Erin's Diaper Cake

I made a diaper cake for my friend Erin's baby shower. Since she's doing a jungle theme I made it one way and then decided it wasn't festive enough so redid it in brighter colors.

Happy Father's Day!

I forgot to take a picture of Shaun's gift but Amelia was all decked out to show her daddy some love on Father's Day - complete with a tennis skirt!!
We also got a chance to Skype with Great-Grandpa George, Great-Grandma Enis, and all the rest of mommy's family. It was so exhausting to meet so many aunts, uncles and cousins that Amelia sacked out afterwards for a bit.
