My Recent Craft

This weekend during the never-ending rainstorm I cleaned the play room.  Instead of throwing away some little toys Amelia has collected over time I upcycled them and made them into a wreath.  Old toys = new play room decor.  :)

Fun with Olivia

Amelia and Olivia are friends from dance class.  This past weekend we dodged the rain
at the mall and the girls had fun riding some of the rides inside.

Stink Face

Good thing it wasn't a real butterfly - she would have scared it to death with that stink face!  :)

Budding photographer?

A budding photographer? Maybe. Here's some pictures Amelia took of me the other night.

Chicks!

Amelia's school hatched some baby chickens and she's pretty smitten with these cuties.  They are so soft and the sweetest little things.  She's going to be so sad when they leave school and go to the farm at the University of Vermont at the end of the week.

Amelia and I walked the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation walk for our little friend Hans, who has Type 1 diabetes, last Sunday.  The team is Hans' Heroes.  We had so much fun and were proud to be part of the fundraising that lead our team to be not only the largest team, but the highest in fundraising with over $18K!

First moose sighting!

Amelia and I were driving to Stowe on Saturday night and Amelia saw her first moose!
Let me correct myself, she saw her first TWO mooses!

School picture sneak peak

A sneak peak of Amelia's school picture that I stole off the online ordering site. :)

Miss Sass!

How can you not love this pic?

Too fast!

She's growing up too fast!  The other morning I got out of the shower and found Amelia trying on my bra.  She asked me if she could wear it to school.  UGH!

Mother's Day

Amelia made me an awesome Mother's Day gift at school this year.

With Olivia

Amelia and her dance class friend Olivia showing off the weeds (I mean flowers!) they picked.

Growing garden!

Amelia's garden is growning.  She planted flowers, broccoli and scallions.
I should get an updated picture because the broccoli is in full bloom!

Face Painting

We did a fundraising walk a few weeks ago and they had a face painter there for the kiddos. Amelia wanted her face painted and sat SO still while the girl painted a butterfly on her cheek.  It made her one happy little girl - especially since it was in her favorite colors - purple and pink!

DIRTY!

It's hard to tell, but she's FILTHY in this picture.
Completely covered in chalk and absolutely disgusting.

Flowers

Maybe I don't have a black thumb after all.  I grew these flowers from
bulbs and they're about half of Amelia's height!

Little Buddy

On Wednesday morning Amelia was awake as I was leaving for my walk at 5:30am.  She begged me to take her with her.  Begrudgingly I gave in.  While we were out we found a caterpillar on the sidewalk.  Amelia named him Little Buddy and asked if she could take him to school to show her friends.  We had a water bottle in the recycling bin so we put holes in along with some grass and sticks.  Here Amelia is getting ready to go to daycare with Little Buddy and her must-have Bic (what she calls her blanket).

Learning to knit!

I'm learning to knit! My first project is a pair of baby booties.  I got my squares done and can't wait to learn how to do the rest!

Cheek-to-Cheek

Often times Amelia snuggles up to us as close as she can when we read at bedtime.  Here's a side shot of her snuggling up cheek-to-cheek with Shaun while they read an Elmo book.

Downtown

Last Thursday Shaun brought Amelia down to my office after work and we walked around downtown Burlington and got some dinner.  The pictures aren't the best but I loved seeing them walking hand-in-hand down the sidewalk.  So sweet!

Amelia cracked me up when I said, "Say cheese!"  Such a goober!

Helping Daddy

Helping Daddy wash the car. She takes her work very seriously!

Sunrise

For the last month or so I've really been dedicated to working out. I've even started getting up at 5:30am to workout or walk (sometimes there's some running thrown in there) before going to work. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not a morning person so that's a big deal. But, I'm feeling good about myself and I'm often treated to some pretty sunrises.
