2 Months Old

Our precious peanut is 2 months old! The last 8 weeks or so have been amazing and we wouldn't trade them for anything. Amelia definitely has her daddy wrapped around her finger and I have to admit, she has me wounded around there pretty tightly too! I was doing pictures every week but I'm going to start doing every month.

Making faces

This is several weeks old but thought I'd post it anyway.

Clothes!!!

Back in November when we found out we were having a girl I bought a bunch of clothes from a woman who had a baby girl on March 31, 2009. She was getting rid of all her daughter's 0-6 month clothing. Well this week I picked up all her 6-12 month clothes. The only thing not shown in this picture is the large box of shoes, hats, socks and mittens.
All the clothes are super cute but here's a few I just took pics of to show off.

Our Lil Lady

Grammy Hartshorn gave Amelia this dress when she came home
from the hospital. The little patch says "Lil Lady." I love the ladybugs
and how precious my lil lady looks in it.

Sneeze

I thought think was kinda cute and wanted to share.

AJ's First Swim

I'm not sure what is up with Mother Nature but it has been H-O-T here the last few days. We're talking high 80s and yesterday, we hit 93! With the sticky, miserable heat I decided we needed a pool to help cool us down. I filled it up on Tuesday and then let it sit in the sun. By Wednesday afternoon we were golden. Amelia's suit is a little too big but that doesn't affect the cute factor. She was sure about the water at first but then ended up loving it. Especially floating on her back. Hopefully she'll end up being a fish like her mommy. I LOVE the water!!

Where's my thumb?

AJ wants NOTHING to do with a pacifier but she is trying SO hard to find that little thumb of hers! It is so darn cute to watch her lick her fist like it's an ice cream cone or something. Her little thumb is right there but she hasn't figured out that she needs to straighten it in order to get in her mouth. Too darn cute!!

The Beach

On Sunday we decided to take Amelia to the beach for the first time. It was a beautiful day and we had a nice time dipping her toes in the sand (not the water because it was way too cold!) and swinging with her. I can't wait until the water warms up and we can really enjoy a visit to the Sandbar!

Two

Two weeks. It comes down to two weeks. I can't believe time has gone by so fast. I only have 14 more days at home before I return to work. UGH! I am dreading Tuesday, June 1st. I know I'll get through it and having a full paycheck again will be nice but I'm not looking forward to leaving my baby girl with someone else all day long. So, I TRY not to think about it.

I haven't been away from Amelia for more than two hours since she was put in my arms. I didn't realize this until the other day. Both times Abby has been involved. The first time she took Amelia for an hour (see post here) so I could get some food and have a few minutes to myself. The second hour was yesterday. Abby and I went to a kid's consignment sale. Daddy was on baby duty. We both survived each instance.

While the last seven weeks haven't been very productive, they've been hers and mine. We've snuggled every day for endless hours. We've been frustrated with each other overcoming the pains of breast feeding and lack of sleep. We've had simply priceless moments staring at each other and wondering what the other one was thinking. Well, at least I was wondering what she was thinking. I like to think about what goes on in that little head of hers and in my mind, she was wondering about what I was thinking. :)

Now, someone else gets to hold my baby for more hours each day than I'll get to and that makes me sad. I brings tears to my eyes to think that she is becoming more active and responsive and I'm not there to play with her. I want to be the one to hear those laughs and wipe away the tears. I want to be the one to see her crawl for the first time, take her first step, say her first word... Loving her more than life won't keep her from doing these things in my absence. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that not all these milestones will be caught by the daycare provider. Hopefully Daddy & I will be witness to one or two. My fingers are tightly crossed.

Next week I'm going to take AJ to daycare for 2 or 3 mornings so I can get used to the idea of her being gone. I'm torn about this decision. Part of me thinks it's good to get used to it and the other part of me thinks I'm losing valuable time with my little girl in the last week of just the two of us. I guess it's good for both of us. Or, that's what I'm going to tell myself. I wouldn't want to be dropped off in some strange place with no warning for 8 hours so why would she, right?

Ugh, two weeks. I'm just going to love every snuggle between now and then.

7 weeks old!

Our little girl is growing so fast! While it's sad that time is flying by, we are loving how responsive she is becoming. It is awesome to have her try and mimic back noises and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smiles we get out of her.

Since she seems more aware of things around her, we got her a toy that plays music and lights up. So far she seems to think it's pretty cool. Or at least that's what I'm guessing based on her reactions.

Mohawk!

Amelia is losing her hair and as a result is sporting quite the hairdo these days. During her bath we could not resist taking advantage of styling a mohawk. I don't think she was a fan!

Uncle Ryan visits

Uncle Ryan finally came to meet me. I got some good snuggles in and love the quilt he made me. It's pink and green! :) Hopefully he'll be able to come up and visit again soon.

Mike came too. He's pretty funny and does a good impression of the womb noises on the CD Mommy plays in the car when we go places and I'm fussy. He also seemed to like my kid's song CD. Maybe I should send it to him when I outgrow it...

My 1st Mother's Day

Today was a wonderful day. Amelia started my first Mother's Day off right by sleeping 10:30pm - 4am and then 5am - 8am. She also took both her morning and afternoon naps. The afternoon one was with me, which was even nicer! :)

Shaun and Amelia presented me with 2 beautiful cards and a Pandora bracelet. The charms were an "A" for Amelia, a pink charm with pink polka dots because I love pink, and a charm with an aquamarine babble for Amelia & I's birthstone. I look forward to collecting more charms from them. What a nice present!

Cinco de Mayo

We went to a party at Daddy's work yesterday for Cinco de Mayo. Mommy decided that since it was a party I should wear my party dress. I got lots of compliments and definitely looked pretty darn sweet. Too bad Mommy & Daddy forgot to take more photos of me!
I did meet another baby at the party. Her name is Zoe. She was born on April 2nd so we're less than a week apart. She was 1oz bigger than me when she was born. Mommy thinks she must be shorter than me because I looked tinier when they put us side by side.

While My Pretty One Sleeps

While Amelia sleeps, I...

a) SLEEP! Especially during her morning naps that are usually from 8am - 10:30am. I think that's when I get my best sleep.

b) run around like the tasmanian devil trying to get done whatever I can. However, I still feel SO behind. I have a ton of Thank You cards to write, I don't have a single page of her baby book filled out and I still haven't gotten my non-maternity summer clothes out of the basement. Oh, how unproductive maternity leave is.

Good thing it's not supposed to be productive and is all about cuddling!!! :)
