Visiting with Kiri

While in Melbourne I had a wonderful day with Kiri on Sunday. After photographing a few women's matches, I headed to Kiri's flat in South Melbourne Beach. Her place is on the beach and has a fabulous view. I'm so incredibly jealous. I met two of her roommates, Erin and Dee, who are super sweet and lots of fun. The four of us had a nice afternoon chatting, drinking wine and even going in the ocean. The water was a lot nicer than I thought it would be. After enjoying our BBQ we headed to a beer garden. We had so much fun and drank just like old times. Hahahahaha. I got back to the hotel around 1:30am and was very happy to crash.

The next day was Australia day and Serena, Nadal and James Blake were all playing. Kiri came into the city to watch the tennis with me. Then later that afternoon I met Shaun's Aunt Tammy and her family for ice cream. It was so nice to see all of them. After seeing them I went back to the tennis and was able to watch Nadal win. And then that night was James Blake vs. Jo Willfried Tsonga. I was looking forward to that match since I love James so much but he didn't play well and Tsonga beat him in three straight sets. Oh well, I was just glad I got to watch him in person. And Kiri got to hang out with me so it was nice to have an extra set of lungs to cheer for JB despite his loss. :)

That was my last night in Melbourne and the next day I headed to Sydney. After a night in Sydney I headed to Brisbane, where Shaun's family lives. I've been here since Wednesday night and am enjoying hanging out with Mum, Dad, Kylie, Woody and Georgia. Tomorrow (Saturday) we're headed to his Auntie Lee's to visit and ride the horses.

Melbourne - Day Two

Saturday I spent the whole day with Kiri. We had lunch, hung out and then went to the tennis. Saw some great matches - Tsonga, Blake, Gasquet & Gonzalez and she saw bits of the Bryan Brothers. When I had to go meet with clients she did a fabulous job of yelling her head off in my absence to support James Blake. He won and I'm so excited that he's onto the next round.

Today is Sunday and I'm off to shoot some photos and then going to Kiri's for a pre-Aussie Day (their verision of the 4th of July) BBQ on the beach!!! I am so excited.

Tomorrow I'll meet up with Shaun's Aunt Tammy and her family. I am looking forward to seeing all of them.

Melbourne - Day One

So Shaun and I parted ways on Friday. He went off to Hayman Island Resort in the Great Barrier Reef and I'm in Sydney. I was greeted at my hotel by my dear old friend Kiri who I haven't seen since she played Maid of Honor in our wedding. :) It was so good to see her. We caught up quickly and then it was off to a dinner with clients and then to see Roger Federer and Mardy Fish play. Roger won, of course but unfortunately Mardy lost his match. :(

G'Day from Sydney!

So we got here Monday morning after a pretty smooth flight. The only bummer is that my ankles swelled quite a bit on the plane and they bothered me most of the day. I told Shaun that once we do the kid thing, if my ankles swell during pregnancy he's going to have to rub them every night. He didn't seem to keen but he'll have no choice.

Anyway, we had a nice day just poking around the city. We bought 2 cupcakes and ate those to celebrate his birthday after dinner. We were so tired we went to bed at 8:25pm and then got up at 6:30am. It was funny to go to bed while it was light out and then wake up to the sun. It was like it didn't even get dark. hahaha

Tuesday my clients came in and we did a city tour and then dinner at this famous seafood restaurant here in Sydney. It was a good day and the clients are awesome. Today we walked a lot and it got up to about 108*!! I kept putting on sunscreen but still got burnt. Grrrrrrr. Oh well, I'll cake on the lotion and hopefully be brown by morning. ;)

I'll post pics soon but wanted to let everyone know we're here and all is going well.

update

I figured I better do a quick update for everyone. We leave Saturday (1/17th) for Australia. Shaun is very excited to spend his birthday (1/19th) in the warmth of Sydney. We're there for a few days and then it's off to Melbourne for the tennis on the 23rd. On the 27th it's back to Sydney and then on the 28th, home to Brisbane to visit Shaun's family. We head back to the states on February 4th.

From there I'll be home until March 4th when I head to Birmingham, AL for Davis Cup. I'm looking forward to seeing a friend from high school I haven't seen since high school. I'm very excited to see James and meet his wife and son. On March 9th I come home until the 23rd when I head to Miami for 2 weeks (home on 2/6th) for the Sony Ericsson.

I'll try to update this with pics from Down Under. :)
